We meet at the Ponderosa Restaurant in Williston, Vermont.

The Shelburne Lions is a unique Little club,who are like one big family.
The club was chartered on May 5,1978 and we have received many awards from International.
Lion Jayne Sorensen has been in Lions for over 27 years,starting out as a charter member in the Winooski Lioness club. and has been in the Shelburne club for over 18 years. Lion Jayne is a progressive Melvin Jones Fellow. Jayne is a life member of the Girl Scout movement. She loves square dancing and traveling with her husband Lion Carl.
Lion Carl has been a member in our club over 18 years and have served several years as President and as Sec. Lion Carl is very respected as a lion both in the club and the District. Lion Carl is retired and is retired from the US Navy. He also is a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.

Lion Mel Johnson,has been a very outstanding and hard working member in our club. Lion Mel is married to a lovely lady name Denise, They have 2 grown sons. Mel has been very involved in the Boy Scout Program in the Shelburne area. Lion Mel has served as our Christmas tree sale chairperson. Mel is a progressive Melvin Jones Fellow. We are very honored to have him as club member.
Lion Andy Davis who is on the left is our only life member.He has served in our club for many years and at this present time he is retired and comes to meeting when ever he is in town
Lion Dave Trueman, our newest member. Lion Dave is married to his lovely wife Vicky
and Lion Dave is always there when you need him for a project. Lion Dave came to us a few years ago from the Vergennes Lions club. He is also a Melvin Jones Fellow. We are very lucky to have him in the club.
Lion Jim Donaldson, Charter Member of our club. Lion Jim joined the club back in 1978 and has held several positions in the club. Lion Jim is married to his lovely wife Merry and they have 2 married daughters. and 4 grand babies who is their pride and Joy.
Lion Jim is very involved with JDRF walk a thon for several years. He took the interest in this project because he has a granddaughter who is a diabetic.
Lion Jim has been our treasure for several years and does a super job. We are very to have him in our club,he is a super lion.
The club has one major fund raiser for the year. With the help of the local Boy Scouts, whom we sponsor, we hold our Annual Christmas Tree Sale. We usually average a sale of over 900 trees plus several dozens wreaths.
This sale has been held over 25 years, and it goes from the weekend after Thanksgiving to a few days before Christmas.
We donate to the following;
LCIF...Lions Club international Foundation
We have pledge several thousands dollars over the past 5 years to the Campaign Sight First and Campaign Sight First ll. We have received several awards for our support.
Vermont Lions Charities.
We buy glasses and provide doctors exams for those who need to have new glasses.
We collect used glasses for District 45 Vt.Lions. We collect between 1,000 to 2,000 prs a year.
We donate to the Green Mt Lions /Austine Hearing Impaired Camp.
We donate to Twin State Soccer to help raise money for the camp. We usually give scholarships to the local kids who have been picked to play in the games. This is a Soccer game that takes place June or July between the top players from both Vermont and New Hampshire.
We donate to Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation and Guide Dog Foundation.
We help with the JDRF Walk-a-thon for Juvenile Diabetes...We have several members who work on the walk-a-thon and we also donate money
We have donated to the International Heifer program.
We have built ramps for those who need to have one.
We usually participate in the Lions International Peace Poster Contest.
For the past 3 years we have sponsored a Lion member to take the Penguin Plunge in February for the Special Olympics.
November 2009 we celebrated Lion Lou's 80Th Birthday and by doing this, we donated $425.00 to Munual Lions Club in Nepal for a Water filtration unit to be installed in one of the schools in their area in his honor. a plaque will be mounted with his name on it . We have seen pictures of their drinking fountains and all they are, are a iron pipe coming out of the ground. Where they put their mouths up to. With the filtration units it gives the children clean drinking water.

Peace Poster Wnner. 2009
We had one entry in the Peace Poster Contest this year and our winner was Joshua Wolfstein. Josh did a great job and we are very happy that he took part in this. .

Josh told the club that he felt that the only place where the strongest power of peace comes from is God and this is why he design the poster that he did.
Josh was presented a check for $75.00 from the club as the winners gift.
CHRISTMAS TREE SALE
Our next project will be our Famous Christmas Sale usually held from the first weekend after Thanksgiving to usually the weekend before Christmas or until all the trees are sold.

Lion Jayne is the region chair for region 1 and with this job she has to travel to clubs in our area when the District Governor visits there, Below you will find some of the club visits that she and KL Carl has attended.
At the International Convention in Boston, Mass, our club was honored with a 100% Melvin Jones Club Award. We were the only one to receive this honor in the United States that year and is the first club in Vermont and New England to have received it. At the spring convention in May of this year, we presented 3 members with a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellowship.
